Prestigious employers 2010-06-14 Where can students meet prestigious employers? Getting young people together with top employers has got harder in the last couple of years. As recruitment drives have stopped; opportunities to meet employers have declined. This is set to change at Skills London 2010 where prestigious employers providing careers and skills will meet young people.

Young people wanting a high energy career with EDF, one of Europe’s largest energy companies, leading the way in power generation in the UK can find out more at Skills London 2010.

Katya Verdonck from EDF Energy is looking forward to the event in October. She told us:

“At EDF Energy, we are on a journey to becoming a truly sustainable business. We have set ourselves clear targets through our commitments outlining what we need to achieve, so the next big challenge for us is attracting the brightest talent to our industry to help us deliver on our sustainability agenda, and ultimately our vision – leading the energy change.

“It is clear that early skills development in Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths subjects has an important role to play in achieving a sustainable economy, whatever industry you work in. So, we’re getting involved in Skills London 2010 because we see the potential to work collaboratively with young students and other organisations in order to achieve transformational change on the skills agenda. We are hoping to share and transfer our passion for a sustainable world of work with the thousands of 14-19 year olds that will be there.”

Visitors may want to build a future with Lovell Partnerships who believe they are successful because of their people and train and develop their staff so they can fulfil their potential and make a positive impact on Lovell and their customers.

Andrew Moreby from Morgan Est plc, part of the Lovell Partnerships is pleased to be exhibiting again in 2010.

“We believe that talented people are the key to our success and that every one of us has a unique talent and a vital role to play. By attending Skills London we will be introducing students to the wide range of career opportunities within Morgan Sindall, we’ll give them the opportunity to find out more about the construction industry in general.“

However, it’s not all about employers at Skills London 2010.
